Day 19 - Tracking Courageous Acts
Today, I am going rogue. I am going to complete the Day 20 challenge now and I will complete the Day 19 challenge tomorrow. This will be a mini post because I took a walk this morning before my retreat began instead of completing the challenge and I just got back to my room… it’s already way past my bedtime. 😉
I am challenged to kick off an “acts of courage” list by writing about an act of courage. Great news, even small acts count. The first item on my list is Traveling Alone. I believe that it is courageous for a person to travel solo. Navigating airport terminals, luggage, uber rides, and event registration are all tasks that can be overwhelming.
Let me tell you how grateful I am for my spouse, who drove me to the airport at 4:30a.m. so that I didn’t have to pay to park our car for a weekend. I am extra glad that he didn’t give me too much grief for being a back seat driver…from the front passenger seat. I may have even shrieked in fear at one point, which was unnecessary.
Arriving at Nashville early in hopes of getting in a little bit of tourist time was the plan, but then it was so hot and humid by the time I got off the plane that I didn’t travel further than five blocks from the event site. Luckily, I downloaded an audiobook to enjoy during my little walk to an amazing pizza spot called Two Boots Pizza.
I found the place online while searching for gluten free pizza options near me. They advertised a pizza called The Meg, and as it was nearing the end of Shark Week 2023, I had to give them a try. The pizza was worth the steamy stroll through the outdoor sauna that is Nashville, Tennessee. I consumed the remaining half of the pizza for lunch today. Yum!
