Days 58 & 59 – Doubling Up

I forgot to do the challenge for yesterday and when I opened my book to see what I needed to catch up on, you won’t even believe me when I tell you this…but the challenge was TO FAIL!

Mission Possible Baby!

Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, offering a platform to connect, share, and engage with the world around us. Today, I am challenged to explore the accounts and handles that make me feel less worthy.

To curate a positive social media experience, it is essential to ensure that our online experience remains optimistic, uplifting, and inspiring. How can I strike a balance between staying informed about important issues and maintaining a positive mindset? Here are my ideas:

My social media journey begins by following accounts that bring joy to my life. Those include accounts that have something good to do with dogs, miniature cattle, really any fluffy animal will do but I love dogs best! The goal is to seek out content that uplifts my spirits.

As a state policy fellow for GLSEN, I have a vital role in advocating for LGBTQIA+ youth. It's essential to stay informed about issues that matter. I find political and human rights advocates that balance the heavy topics with hope.

When I reflect on the accounts that make me feel less worthy, I have to ask myself, Are they constantly negative, critical, or divisive? If yes, it might be time for me to hit the unfollow button. When I encounter toxicity or negative energy coming from within my social media circles, I choose to maintain a positive space for myself by muting or unfollowing those accounts.

Remember, your social media feed is your curated world. Make it a reflection of what makes you happy and inspired. Maintaining a healthy balance on social media is crucial for our well-being. It's essential to stay informed about critical issues, but always have those fluffy puppy videos at the ready to lift your spirits when the weight of the world gets too heavy. Social media should empower us, not diminish our worth or capabilities.
