Day 37 – Pinpointing What Makes Me Remarkable

Today’s challenge is identifying a minimum of five things I find remarkable about myself. Here goes another stream of consciousness post!

  1. I find that my energy level is immediately replenished when I have the opportunity to share something that I’m passionate about. It doesn’t matter how exhausted I am. If I remember something that is exciting or if someone asks me a question about something I care about – it’s like in an old school Nintendo game when a character is suddenly brought back to full hearts.

  2. I will block traffic to save an animal in the street… even to the detriment of my physical person and my motor vehicle’s wellness. I love geese, squirrels, opossums, random wandering dogs and any other manner of animal that finds itself in the middle of a road I’m traveling down so much that I would die for them if I could prevent them from being hit by oncoming traffic. It is in no way rational, but I wouldn’t change this quirk of mine even if I could.

  3. I won’t jaywalk if there is a traffic signal for pedestrians. I will patiently wait until the WALK image flashes, signaling it’s my turn to cross the street. I love to listen to music when I am walking from my parked car to my workplace. When I wait for a crosswalk signal to change, I get a couple of extra moments to bebop to my jams. Today Ryan Gosling serenaded me with I’m Just Ken.

  4. When I commit to something, it’s unlikely that I will give up. For example, my son took German last year for school. To make sure I could help him with his homework I signed up for Duolingo and began taking German. After the school year concluded, he decided that he didn’t want to continue with German…I finished my 365th lesson today!

  5. When I find a food that I like, I will eat basically only that forever…or until I’m tired of it. I have been eating a Trader Joe’s GF bagel, half with plain cream cheese and everything bagel seasoning and the other half with strawberry cream cheese, every morning (and sometimes for dinner) since November of last year.
